Gli As I Lay Dying tornano con un nuovo capitolo della loro carriera pubblicando il singolo “If I Fall”, accompagnato dal video ufficiale. Il brano segue la pubblicazione di “Echoes”, uscita a ottobre, che aveva introdotto la rinnovata lineup della band e segnato il loro ritorno sulle scene.
Il nuovo singolo mostra una combinazione di velocità, melodia e aggressività: “If I Fall” si distingue per un attacco immediato, chitarre dal taglio incendiario e un impianto lirico introspettivo firmato da Tim Lambesis, elementi che hanno definito il sound degli As I Lay Dying per oltre vent’anni. Il video ufficiale, dalle atmosfere scure e basato su una performance viscerale, è disponibile su YouTube.
In un passaggio dedicato al singolo, Tim Lambesis racconta:
«I wrote the first version of ‘If I Fall’ before the new lineup even came together, and I knew the song had real potential. As each musician joined the process, that potential only grew — everyone brought something that elevated what I’d already started. Musically it hints at what’s possible with this refreshed energy, and lyrically it reflects the kind of people I want around me for this next and best chapter.»
La nuova formazione degli As I Lay Dying comprende Tim Lambesis alla voce, Chris Clancy al basso e alle clean vocals, Bill Hudson alla chitarra, Don Vedda alla chitarra e Tim Yeung alla batteria. La band ha inoltre ricordato che il più recente album in studio, “Through Storms Ahead”, è disponibile tramite Napalm Records.
