Peter Edwars “Ginger” Baker è nato a Lewisham, Londra, il 19 agosto del 1939. Sono ottanta le candeline che questo incredibile batterista dovrà spegnere oggi. I suoi studi musicali vedono la tromba come strumento fondamentale, ma poi l’attenzione di Ginger (nomignolo dato dal color rosso dei suoi capelli) si sposta verso la batteria. I suoi studi si concentrano sulla musica jazz e da qui le prime esperienze con gruppi e band jazz. Poi il rock e la breve esperienza nei Cream con Eric Clapton e Jack Bruce. Poi i Blind Faith di Steve Winwood, dove ritrova Captn. Brevissima anche questa esperienza, sette mesi in tutto. A causa di questa difficoltà nel creare legami e a causa delle sue abitudini ed eccessi inizia la sua carriera solista e grazie alla sua esperienza e qualità diventerà uno dei migliori batteristi nel campo del jazz e del rock…
