Joel Michael Stroetzel è nato a Westfield, Massachusetts, il 214 luglio del 1980 e già durante il 1999 fonda assieme all’amico e collega alla sei corde i Killswitch Engage, band metalcore, con cui ha registrato sette album in studio.
