Tanti auguri ad un virtuoso della chitarra che oggi festeggia il compleanno. Si tratta di John Petrucci, chitarrista della progressive metal band Dream Theater, nonchè uno dei fondatori della stessa.
John Peter Petrucci nasce a Kings Park, Long Island, nello stato di New York ,il 12 luglio del 1967. La famiglia ha chiare origini italiane. Innamorato della chitarra dell’età di otto anni. I suoi studi al Berklee College of Music in Massachusetts insieme al suo amico d’infanzia e bassista John Myung lo portano a conoscere il batterista Mike Portnoy, con il quale fondarono nel 1985 i Majesty, successivamente divenuti Dream Theater. Tutto il resto è storia!!!
Il 1º marzo 2005 Petrucci pubblica il suo primo album da solista ‘Suspended Animation’.
