METALLICA: colpiti e rattristati per la morte del co-produttore di “Lulu” Hal Willner

Il produttore musicale Hal Willner, una delle forze creative dietro l’ album collaborativo del 2011 dei Metallica e Lou Reed, il controverso Lulu, è morto martedì 7 aprile a causa delle complicazioni del coronavirus (COVID-19). Aveva 64 anni.

Willner era meglio conosciuto come produttore di musica per gli sketch del Saturday Night Live e curatore di album tributi e riviste di musica. Aveva detto dellla sua diagnosi positiva al COVID-19 in un tweet del 28 marzo, come ha sottolineato Variety. 

I Metallica hanno scritto un lungo ricordo “colpiti e rattristati della morte del produttore, scrittore e compositore Hal Willner”

“Era un collaboratore davvero stimolante, qualcuno che attraverso la sua combinazione unica di conoscenza musicale e personalità  calorosa, ha rinvigorito ogni progetto che ha affrontato.”

Il batterista dei Metallica Lars Ulrich ha aggiunto:

“Farò sempre tesoro del tempo che ho trascorso con Hal in quegli ambienti piùstimolanti e collaborativi. Era una persona così calorosa, aperta e comunicativa, e come braccio destro di Lou, è stato assolutamente essenziale per arrivare a Lulu. Non lo dimenticherò mai. “
