Sabato 19 aprile 2025, i Metallica si sono esibiti per la prima volta al JMA Wireless Dome di Syracuse, stabilendo un nuovo record di presenze per un concerto nella storica arena universitaria. Secondo un responsabile della Syracuse University, la band ha superato il precedente primato di 47.319 spettatori, detenuto dai The Who dal 1982.
Lo spettacolo ha proposto un set ad alta energia con brani che coprono l’intera carriera del gruppo, da “Creeping Death” e “For Whom the Bell Tolls” fino ai classici come “Nothing Else Matters”, “One” e “Master of Puppets”. La scaletta ha incluso anche brani tratti dall’ultimo album 72 Seasons, come “Lux Æterna” e “Screaming Suicide”.
Prima dei Metallica, il pubblico ha assistito alle esibizioni di Pantera e Suicidal Tendencies, che hanno aperto la serata con set potenti e coerenti con lo spirito del concerto.
