Brian Fallon, frontman del gruppo punk rock The Gaslight Anthem, ha rilasciato “A wonderful life“, il primo singolo del suo album solista “Painkillers“, che verrà pubblicato l’11 marzo da Island Records. L’album è stato registrato a Nashville con il produttore Butch Walker (che ha prodotto, tra gli altri, Frank Turner e Keith Urban).

Brian Fallon porterà il suo nuovo lavoro in giro per il mondo con un tour che comprende America ed Europa e suonerà con il chitarrista dei Gaslight Anthem Alex Rosamilia, con Ian Perkins, il secondo membro dei The Horrible Crowes (uno dei side projects di Fallon) e Catherine Popper, bassista dell’altro progetto parallelo dell’artista, i Molly & The Zombies.

Il 29 luglio i Gaslight Anthem hanno annunciato che, dalla fine del tour estivo, si sarebbero presi una pausa per ricaricarsi e per tornare con del materiale entusiasmante, evitando di scrivere un album tanto per fare e per avere del tempo da dedicare ai vari progetti di ogni membro della band. Brian Fallon ha iniziato il suo progetto solista ed il bassista Alex Levine, oltre ad occuparsi del suo brand Tiger Cuts, ha formato un progetto chiamato Eightysixguns insieme a Tim Brennan, chitarrista dei Dropkick Murphys
Questo il comunicato:
“Hello all!
We wanted to let everyone know that we’ll all be taking a break from The Gaslight Anthem after this next European tour in August. We’re all going to do other projects and stay active in some way or another, both in and out of music, but we’d like to step away from the band until we decide what we’d like to do next.
We’d like to recharge and take a step back until we have something we feel excited about rather than going right back to making a record just for the sake of making the next record. We all feel this is the best decision we can make and it feels like the right one for us.
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our band for the last eight years and we’ll see you down the road!
