Il 27 maggio 2017 si spegneva nella sua casa in Georgia Gregg Allman, celebre chitarrista e fondatore della Allman Brothers Band.
Gregg, Gregory LeNoir, Allman era nato a Nashville l’8 dicembre del 1984. Membro fondatore assieme al fratello Duane della celeberrima Allman Brothers Band agli inizi degli anni ’70.
Dopo aver militato in una serie di band, durante gli anni ’60, gli Allman Brothers nascono alla fine di questa decade, per l’esattezza nel 1969. Da questo anno in poi i grandi successi ed i grandi eccessi.
Gregg si spegne nella sua casa di Richmond Hill, in Georgia, il 27 maggio 2017, all’età di 69 anni, a causa di complicazioni dovute ad un cancro al fegato. Prima della sua morte, Allman ha registrato il suo ultimo album, ‘Southern Blood‘, pubblicato postumo a settembre del 2017.
