Nono lavoro per gli Aerosmith, ‘Permanent Vacation’, considerato il vero album che riproietta alla ribalta la band di Boston. Un album molto divertente ed entusiasmante. Il primo con autori e compositori esterni alla band.
Dopo il ritorno sulle scene, con la formazioni al gran completo (rientrano nella band i due chitarristi Joe Perry e Brad Whitford), con l’album ‘Done With Mirrors’ del 1985, il 31 agosto del 1987 gli Aerosmith pubblicano il fortunato ‘Permanent Vacation’. Di certo piùinteressante del precedente e la stella dei due Toxic Twins ritorna a brillare. L’album diventa immediatamente popolare soprattutto grazie a tre brani che entrano nella top 20 della Billboard Hot 100: ‘Rag Doll’, ‘Dude (Looks Like a Lady)’ e ‘Angel’ ed inoltre è presente un’altra cover dei Beatles: ‘I’m Down’…
