Dopo la notizia di qualche ora fa, in cui Jason Bonham, figlio del leggendario Bonzo, ha raccontato di essere stato introdotto alla cocaina da adolescente da Jimmy Page, ecco che si abbatte sul chitarrista dei Led Zeppelin l’ennesima reazione sdegnata dopo aver pubblicato sul suo profilo Instragram ufficiale alcuni scatti live del 1977.
In queste immagini, del fotografo Neal Preston, si può vedere Jimmy Page intento a suonare mentre indossa un cappello nazista con la didascalia:
“#OnThisDay in 1977, I played at Chicago Stadium with @ledzeppelin.

We opened the set on the 1977 tour with ‘The Song Remains The Same’ and in the extras section of the Led Zeppelin DVD there is a version of this edited from various sources. It displays the full-on energy of the approach to that tour.

Nonostante queste foto fossero già note e come Page non abbia mai fatto commenti pubblici razzisti o bigotti, si sono levate proteste di fan e commentatori, che hanno iniziato a commentare negativamente l’outfit:
“Il berretto nazista era di cattivo gusto, Jimmy.”
Un altro fan ha detto:
“È orribile che tu abbia indossato un berretto nazista. ”
Un altro fan ha commentato:
“Mi piacerebbe vedere le rock band oggi indossare stivali e uniforme da ufficiale tedesco sul palco e farla franca…”
Il chitarrista ha poi ribadito la sua scelta in un altro post, dove chiama l’abito di scena “Stormtrooper”:
“#OnThisDay in 1977 I debuted the Stormtrooper Outfit in Chicago.
