Marky Ramone compie oggi 62 anni. Entrato nei Ramones dopo l’uscita di Tommy Ramone nel 1978. Debutta su disco con l’album ‘Road to Ruin’ e esce dalla band nel 1983 per ritornarvi qualche anno dopo.
Marc Steven Bell, rinominato Marky Ramone dopo aver sostituito Tommy dopo la sua uscita dalla band, è nato a New York il 15 luglio del 1956. Marky fu temporaneamente allontanato e sostituito da Richie Ramone dal 1983 al 1987 a causa di problemi legati all’abuso di alcol. Rientra nel gruppo nel 1990 e rimarrà nella band fino al suo scioglimento nel 1996. Rimane l’ultimo emblema del punk dei Ramones ancora in vita portando la musica della band di NYC ancora in giro per il mondo con i suoi innumerevoli progetti.
A MArzo 2002, Marky Ramone è stato inserito nella Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, con la cerimonia alla band e a lui dedicata presso il Waldorf Astoria di New York.
