I concerti della METALLICA e della San Francisco Symphony del 6 e 8 settembre 2019 “S&M²” sono stati storici su piùlivelli: Sono serviti come inaugurazione del Chase Center di San Francisco, hanno riunito la band e la Symphony per la prima volta dopo le esibizioni del 1999 immortalate nell’album “S&M”, vincitore di un Grammy, e hanno presentato le prime interpretazioni sinfoniche di canzoni scritte e pubblicate dopo quegli spettacoli originali di “S&M”.
I concerti sold-out sono stati accolti con entusiasmo dai 40.000 fan che hanno viaggiato da quasi 70 paesi e dai media: Rolling Stone ha così detto: “il gruppo ha dimostrato che tutto era possibile”, Variety ha notato un’atmosfera “ronzante di eccitazione”, mentre il Mercury News è stato testimone di “un concerto di cui i fan parleranno per i decenni a venire”, e Consequence Of Sound ha salutato “una vera celebrazione dei METALLICA e della loro bravura musicale”.
Il 28 agosto, “S&M²” prende nuovamente vita con l’uscita di “Metallica And San Francisco Symphony: S&M²”. “S&M²” sarà disponibile in un’incredibile varietà di formati, che vanno da un album digitale su tutti i principali punti vendita di streaming, alle versioni 4LP in vinile, 2CD, DVD e Blu-ray, fino ad un’edizione limitata di vinile a colori 4LP + 2CD + Blu-ray Deluxe Box con spartiti, plettri per chitarra, poster e altro ancora, fino a un Metallica. L’esclusiva Super Deluxe Box, limitata a 500 copie, ognuna con gli spartiti reali utilizzati dalla Symphony durante gli spettacoli e firmati a mano da tutti e quattro i membri della band (oltre ad includere tutto nella Deluxe Box).
