Era il 21 settembre 1993 quando i Nirvana pubblicano il terzo ed ultimo album in studio In Utero.
Il 27 ottobre, a celebrazione del trentesimo anniversario, il lavoro di Kurt Cobain e soci torna negli store in vari formati, con 53 tracce inedite, come le registrazioni di due live completi del tour a supporto del disco stesso.
La ristampe saranno disponibili nei seguenti formati:
• cofanetto Super Deluxe di 8 LP in Edizione Limitata;
• cofanetto Super Deluxe di 5 CD;
• vinile (1 LP + 10″);
• 2 CD Deluxe e un’edizione Digital Super Deluxe.
Le versioni delle edizioni Super Deluxe sono composte da 72 brani. Sono comprese le tracce dei concerti completi di Los Angeles nel 1993 e di Seattle nel 1994, in più altri sei brani live registrati durante le tappe di Roma, Springfield e New York. La produzione dei pezzi live è stata affidata a Jack Endino, già produttore di “Bleach”(1989).
“In Utero” con la sue dodici canzoni originali è stato arricchito da cinque tracce bonus e b-side, rimasterizzate a partire dai nastri stereo analogici da Bob Weston.
Un pannello in acrilico rimovibile con l’iconico angelo dell’album funge da front-cover ed impreziosisce i cofanetti Super Deluxe, così come un libro di 48 pagine contenente foto inedite, una fanzine di 20 pagine, la litografia del poster del concerto di Los Angeles, una replica del cartonato promozionale per i negozi del 1993, tre volantini dei concerti, due matrici dei biglietti di Los Angeles e Seattle, un all-access tour pass plastificato e quattro diversi pass per il backstage del tour (press, photo, after show, local crew).
“In Utero” fu registrato nel febbraio 1993 presso il Pachyderm Studio di Cannon Falls in Minnesota.
