Il 12 febbraio del 1939 nasceva in Illinois, Chicago, Ray Manzarek, tastierista apprezzatissimo e affermatissimo noto per aver fatto parte di una delle band piùinfluenti del rock moderno: The Doors.
Dopo gli studi di pianoforte a Chicago e la laurea in economia conseguita sempre nella città del blues, si trasferisce a Los Angeles dove incontra Jim Morrison con il quale di lì a poco fonderà i Doors. Siamo nel 1965.
