Il mega festival POWER TRIP è incominciato questa notte venerdì 6 ottobre all’Empire Polo Club di Indio, in California. Quasi 160.000 le presenze annunciate.
Il festival è dedicato soprattutto alle band rock e heavy metal degli anni ’70 e ’80, e aveva stupito tutti per l’incredibile line up: AC/DC, GUNS N’ ROSES, METALLICA, IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, e TOOL.
Ozzy Osbourne aveva comunicato la cancellazione del suo show, che doveva segnare il ritorno sul palco dopo la lunga malattia.
Gli AC/DC hanno reclutato il batterista Matt Laug, per esibirsi con la band al Power Trip Festival il mese prossimo.
Nell’annuncio, gli AC/DC non hanno offerto alcuna spiegazione per l’assenza del batterista Phil Rudd, che si è unito agli AC/DC per la registrazione dell’album di ritorno del gruppo, “Power Up“, uscito a novembre 2020, ma si sospetta un problema di visti visto il passato turbolento del musicista.
Al momento si sono esibiti gli Iron Maiden con l’ultima data del The Future Past. I Guns n’ Roses stanno ancora terminando il loro set.
