Le nomination delle 84 categorie della 62esima edizione dei Grammy Awards sono state annunciate il 20 novembre 2019 da Alicia Keys e Bebe Rexha. Ovviamente grande spazio va ormai ai nomi mainstream dominanti le classifiche, tra cui Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift.
I piùimportanti riconoscimenti dell’industria musicale vanno a Lizzo, rapper, cantautrice e attrice statunitense, con ben otto candidature. L’artista, 31 anni, prevale sulle altre due rivelazioni dell’anno, Billie Eilish e il rapper Lil Nas X.
La cerimonia di premiazione si terrà il 26 gennaio 2020 (la diretta in Italia sarà dalle 2 del 27 gennaio) allo Staples Center di Los Angeles. Host dell’evento Alicia Keys.
Tra le categorie Rock e Metal non potevano mancare i Tool, con l’ultimo album “Fear Inoculum“. Piccola sorpresa i Candlemass con Tony Iommi dei Black Sabbath che si cimenta in un gran solo nella canzone Astorolus: the Great Octopus dal disco ‘The Door to Doom’.
