Il leader dei DOPE Edsel Dope, che si ritiene sia Xer0, il nuovo frontman mascherato degli STATIC-X , ha respinto le accuse dell’ ex chitarrista degli STATIC-X Tripp Eisen secondo cui gli ex compagni di band di Tripp si sono attribuiti i diritti d’autore su alcune tracce sull’album “Project Regeneration Vol. 1” appena pubblicato del gruppo.
Il nuovo album vede i membri della formazione originale: il bassista Tony Campos, il batterista Ken Jay e il chitarrista Koichi Fukuda.
Durante le sessioni di registrazione di “Project Regeneration”, gli STATIC-X hanno affermato in un comunicato stampa che uno dei suoi produttori ha scoperto diverse tracce inedite e non finite, molte delle quali contenevano performance vocali di Wayne Static.
Lunedì 13 luglio, Eisen – il cui vero nome è Tod Rex Salvador – ha rilasciato una dichiarazione contestando la spiegazione di STATIC-X per la provenienza di alcuni brani inediti e affermando che le versioni originali di tutte le canzoni piùvecchie su “Project Regeneration Vol. 1” sono “completamente materiale Wayne Static e Tripp Eisen:
“nessuno degli attuali membri aveva nulla a che fare con la loro creazione”
Tripp ha anche preso il merito di aver coinvolto Edsel con il ritorno di STATIC-X dopo Eisen e Campos presumibilmente “ricollegato e ristabilito la loro amicizia” alla fine del 2016.
Nonostante Tripp avesse dichiarato di aver chiarito con Campos le sue accuse sulle molestie sessuali a danni di alcune ragazze minorenni, Edsel Dope ha rivangato le accuse in un lungo post. Non nuovo a polemiche (qui quella contro Robb Flynn dei Machine Head) ha scritto:
